There is a specific kind of magic that happens in East Texas when the pine curtains part and a historic roofline appears against the horizon. For us, that magic has always lived in Winnsboro.

Today, we are thrilled to officially pull back the curtain on a project that has been brewing in our hearts (and our gardens!) for a long time. Welcome to the new Winnsboro TX Getaway—your digital front porch for everything happening at the Oaklea Mansion, the Carlock House Museum, and across our beautiful town.

More Than Just A Place To Stay: The Oaklea Mansion Getaway

When you visit Oaklea Mansion, you aren't just booking a room; you’re stepping into a story. From the creak of the original wood floors to the aroma of a gourmet southern breakfast wafting from the kitchen, Oaklea is about the "Slow Down."

But this spring, we’re taking you deeper into the experience. In the coming weeks we will be launching the Oaklea Breakfast Vlog, featuring our owner, Casie Buck. We’ll be sharing the secrets to our signature recipes, hosting tips, and the joy of a shared table.

Oaklea Blooms: A Garden in Transition

You can't have a mansion without a masterpiece of a garden. This year, we are putting as much love into the soil as we are into the house. Through our dedicated Oaklea Mansion Blooms Facebook page, we’re inviting you into the yard with us.

From the first sprout of a spring bulb to the meticulous pruning of our heritage roses, you’ll see exactly what it takes to get these grounds "festival-ready." Whether you're a master gardener or just someone who appreciates a beautiful floral backdrop for your morning coffee, follow along as we turn the Oaklea grounds into a living canvas for the upcoming season.

Preserving The Heart Of Winnsboro: The Carlock House Museum

The Carlock House Museum

Inside the Carlock House (Oaklea Mansion) the treasures we are honored to steward: The Carlock House Museum, is coming to life. Built in 1903, this home is a testament to the pioneers and leaders who built Winnsboro. As we begin our 2026 season, we are opening the doors to this museum to share the archives, the architecture, and the ancestors who made this town what it is today.

In connection to The Carlock House Museum we are also launching The Carlock House Museum facebook page that will take you on a more in-depth tour of the house and the items inside.

The Wagon Chronicles: Rolling Into A New Era Of Heritage
